My GISHWHES images featured in the coffee table book! I am so beyond thrilled to have two of them in there.

They certainly aren’t my cleanest, best-arranged shots, but they are two of them that I was most proud of accomplishing, for sure!

The first image is #113: An image of the text of an Emily Dickenson poem projected on the hull of a navy ship at night. The ship must be at least as big as a destroyer. (Worth 60 points)

That’s the USS North Carolina, which is parked a few miles away from me in the Cape Fear River. I used an actual projector (borrowed from my neighborhood bar with promises of continued alcohol consumption), because to get something big and clear on something that huge? It takes a lot of focus and watt power! It was a learning experience.

The second image is #26: A jumpsuit made from beer cozies. (Make it a men’s large. I might ask you to send it to me when we’re done because mine’s threadbare.) (Worth 31 points)

Misha fucking Collins wants the jumpsuit to be a men’s large? Misha fucking Collins gets a men’s large. And trust me, when you’re sewing over 150 beer cozies together by hand (my sewing machine wasn’t strong enough), those few extra inches matter. That’s my (very good-natured) step-dad modeling it for you. He’s over 6’. To top it off, sewing is really difficult with a migraine, so I did much of it with my eyes closed! Cozies provided by a college guy on craigslist. He charged me ten dollars to give over a substantial few of his collection of over 500.

I’m so proud to have been featured twice. GISHWHES meant so much to me.

Now that my eyes have stayed dry long enough to type this message, I’m going back to my puddle of happy sobbing.
